A general emergency management exercise was held on September 27th in the Srednogorie region. In was organized by Healthcare Management Systems (HMS) AD, a member of BIBA, and the Industrial Fire and Emergency Management Systems (IFEMS) OOD together with ZOAD DZI and AirBan. It involved Rescue resources (Helicopters), Fire Emergency Group, Rescue Group and Medical Ambulance Group. An exercise with such scale is organized for the first time in Bulgaria. It was organized in the framework of the contract for Industrial safety, Health and Emergency Management of Elatzite Med AD, which implementation is overtaken by HMS AD and IFEMS OOD.
Four different scenarios were demonstrated at four locations – the Mining complex "Elatzite" in Etropole, the Enrichment complex "Elatzite" in Mirkovo, at Chelopech Mining EAD in Chelopech and at the Stadium in Pridop. The last demonstration was organized together with the Pirdop Hospital and the Health Emergency Department. The management of Elatzite Med AD and Chelopech Mining EAD, the Mayor of Pirdop Mr. Tzanko Tzanov, representatives of the Fire service and the Civil defense in Pirdop attended the demonstrations together with other official guests, as well as local and national media. Elatzite Med AD and Chelopech Mining EAD have provided their employees with a subscription to the new ZOAD DZI assurance product MedicAssist, which is unique for the Bulgarian market. The corporations can use the product to cover the medical needs of the employees in life threatening situations. In this relation a medical evacuation with helicopter was demonstrated. The conclusion drown at the end of the day from all participants and guests: there is no other way to protect own property and personnel but keeping readiness to act promptly and professionally, as it was done.
